We know that what audiences watch in plays, musicals, films, and TV shows helps mold the way they see the world around them – and we want audiences to see shows by women & femme artists, telling our stories through our lens.
We focus most of our support on the original creators — playwrights, composers, and producers — to get more women, trans, and non-binary people in these roles that decide which stories get told on stage and screen.

WITH BACKLASH FROM OUR UNAPOLOGETIC SUPPORT OF ABORTION RIGHTS, TO PULLED GOVERNMENT FUNDING DUE TO THE NEW ANTI-DEI POLICIES, OUR MISSION IS UNDER ATATCK. BUT YOU CAN HELP KEEP THE FIGHT GOING.
Eleven years ago, we started with a simple, radical idea: to fight for gender equity in the arts by creating a space for women, trans, and non-binary storytellers to be seen and heard.
Over a decade later, we haven’t just created a space—we’ve built a nationwide movement.
So far, we’ve lost $48,000 in government funding due to our mission — and we’re relying on you to help keep us going during these years.
2026 SUMMER THEATER FESTIVAL SHOWS ANNOUNCED!
We are SO excited to see you at our four theaters across the country – SheLA and SheNYC in July, SheATL in August, and SheDFW in September. By the end of the summer, we’ll have presented 20 original, full-length plays and musicals by women, trans, & nonbinary playwrights!
Running July 7-12 at Rogue Machine Theatre in West Hollywood
Running July 13-26th at the Lynn F. Angelson Theatre (CSC) in New York City
Running August 10-16th at The Mainstage at 7 Stages Theatre in Atlanta
Running September 8-13th at Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth
